The Wurzweiler Clinical DSW program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skill base of experienced post MSW clinicians who are either in direct practice with a client base, supervisors or administrators of clinical programs. We are dedicated to preparing you to become scholarly evidence-based clinicians, leaders in social service agency settings, educators in clinical social work education.
Unlike PhD programs, which emphasize social work research and research skill development, our DSW offers a comprehensive format for advancement for those already practicing clinical social work. The program incorporates historical, contemporary and emerging clinical theories and therapy models for direct clinical practice with individuals, couples, families, groups and communities. The Clinical curriculum coursework and Grand Challenge project consists of evidence-based clinical practice, research, ethics, and educational pedagogies and practices in the area of clinical social work. As the field of social work is growing fast, there is no better time to earn this prestigious credential that is a stepping stone for leadership roles.
Opportunities for social work professionals are expected to grow by 13% from 2019 to 2029, much faster than the average for all other occupations. Career opportunities for Substance Abuse, Behavior Disorder, and Mental Health Counselors are projected to grow at a rate of 19% through 2029.
