Alumni Advisory Committee
The Zahava and Moshael J. Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought
YU Straus Center Alumni Advisory Committee
The Alumni Advisory Committee is a new initiative by the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought of Yeshiva University. The Straus Center trains Yeshiva University students to be modern Orthodox intellectual leaders who are well-versed in both Torah and the Western canon.
The Yeshiva University Straus Center Alumni Advisory Committee aims to further the impact of Straus alumni, current Straus Scholars, and other students involved in politics, policy, and journalism on both of Yeshiva University’s campuses.
This Advisory Committee is an arm of the Straus Center’s Impact Office, led by Dr. Tevi Troy. The Impact Office works to foster the growth of the Straus Scholars beyond the walls of the classroom, by making them aware of internship and fellowship opportunities and job postings, offering mentorship and networking opportunities over the course of their early careers, and arranging continued intellectual enhancement activities following graduation.
The Advisory Committee hosts New York City-based events and facilitates a mentorship program for a growing network of aligned YU students and young professionals.
Committee Chair - Eli Diamond
Eli graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva College with a B.A. in Economics. While at YU, he helped launch the AEI Executive Council, was an active member of YUPAC and College Republicans, and wrote regularly about public policy for the Commentator and Observer.
Mentorship Program
The Alumni Advisory Committee works to connect Straus Scholars and other aligned YU students with accomplished young professionals with expertise in politics, policy, journalism, and academia. By offering guidance, sharing insights, and providing networking opportunities, mentors will play a crucial role in shaping the future success of Jewish leadership and intellectual influence in key fields.
