The Katz School of Science and Health at Yeshiva University has announced the launch of a new Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence. Created in response to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning jobs in New York City, the program is set to welcome its first cohort in fall 2020. According to Forbes, AI will create 58 million new jobs by 2022, which means there is a great need for educated professionals with the skills to fill these positions. The MS in Artificial Intelligence is a STEM-approved degree designed to help students develop a grounding in artificial intelligence theory, research, technologies and ethical standards. Throughout the curriculum, students will have the opportunity to design and build AI applications using cutting-edge artificial intelligence design patterns and engineering practices. Additionally, the coursework will highlight artificial intelligence skills including machine learning and deep neural networks as well as languages and technologies like Python, SQL, NoSQL, and TensorFlow. The 36-credit program will typically take three semesters to complete for full-time students. A part-time option is also available on-campus or online. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared for careers as a data scientist, machine learning scientist, artificial intelligence researcher, financial analyst, algorithm developer and more. “Artificial intelligence is disrupting and transforming nearly every major industry, from cybersecurity to biotech to healthcare,” said Dr. Paul Russo, dean of the Katz School. “We’re excited to launch this program at a time where the need for advanced education in AI is critical, and we look forward to the ways in which our students will shape the future of this emerging field.” Learn more at Artificial Intelligence.
