     Rabbi Dr. Richard Weiss, Program Director



Rabbi Richard Weiss, M.D. is a Clinical Associate Professor of Biology at Stern College For Women and Director of the YU-Einstein Medical Leaders Program. He is also Rabbi Emeritus of the Young Israel of Hillcrest, where he served for 17 years.

Rabbi Dr. Weiss received his BA from Yeshiva College and Rabbinic Ordination from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University. He received an MS Degree in Biology from the University of Detroit and a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a licensed physician in the State of NY, having completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Maimonides Medical Center and has worked previously as a hospice staff physician for Metropolitan Jewish Health System.

Rabbi Dr. Weiss has a special interest in the interface between General Bioethics and Jewish Bioethics, with a focus on issues related to infertility and end-of-life.
