Sandy Moore Named as New Director of University Libraries

New Library Direcotry: Sandy Moore

Yeshiva University is excited to welcome back Sandy Moore as the Director of University Libraries.  Sandy is no newcomer to Yeshiva University.  She previously held the position of Head Librarian at YU’s Pollack Library.

Prior to accepting this position, Sandy worked as Associate Library Director at New York Institute of Technology.  At the same time she enrolled in a PhD program at Texas Tech University in Higher Education Administration, which she is diligently pursuing.

Sandy’s previous positions include working as the Library Director of Allen Community College in Iola, Kansas, where she participated in Academic Affairs, Curriculum, Accreditation, and Strategic Planning Committees.  During her tenure as a Director, Sandy oversaw acquisitions, electronic resources, library technologies, reference services, library instruction, access services, interlibrary loan, library programing and assessment.

An alumna of Rutgers, Sandy earned dual degrees in philosophy and religious studies.  She also holds a Master of Arts degree in religious studies from the University of Kansas and a professional library degree from Emporia State University.

Sandy is happy to be back, and she looks forward to helping the university fortify research and information literacy instruction and explore open educational resources, while meeting the challenges of providing information access and stewardship in the 21st century.
