December 18 Yom Iyun to Celebrate High School’s Centennial
On Sunday, December 18, 2016, The Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy/Yeshiva University High School for Boys (YUHSB) will present a special Yom Iyun [day of learning] titled “Inspiring the Next Generation.” The event is part of a year-long celebration of YUHSB’s centennial.
Lord Rabbi Jonathan Sacks will present the keynote address, along with remarks by YU President Richard M. Joel ’68YUHS and YU President-Elect Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman ’87YUHS.
The event will also feature 13 break-out sessions on the effects of technology and social media on spirituality and prayer.
The presenters include Rabbi Steven Burg '89YUHS, director general of Aish HaTorah; Rabbi Yaakov Glasser, David Mitzner Dean of the Center for the Jewish Future; Rabbi Mark Gottlieb '87YUHS, senior director at The Tikvah Fund; Rabbi Yakov Horowitz, founder and director of Project Y.E.S.; Rabbi Dr. Josh Joseph, senior vice president at YU; Rabbi Joshua Kahn, head of school at YUHSB; Dr. Rona Novick, dean of Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration; Mrs. CB Neugroschl, head of school at the Samuel H. Wang/Yeshiva University High School for Girls; Rabbi Marc Penner, Max and Marion Grill Dean of Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS); Rabbi Daniel Price, head of school at Rosenbaum Yeshiva of North Jersey; Dr. Rivka Press Schwartz, associate principal at SAR High School; Rabbi Michael Taubes '76YUHS, Rosh Yeshiva at YUHSB and RIETS; and Rabbi Mordechai Willig, Rosh Yeshiva at RIETS.
