Student Library Research Award 2023 Winner: Bluma Gross

Congratulations to the 2023 Student Library Research Award Winner Bluma Gross! Bluma, SCW ’24 is a political science major. Her paper, Historical and Theoretical Analysis of Colonial Healthcare,” was written for Introduction to Comparative Politics, taught by Professor Dina Shvetsov.  Bluma has a passionate interest in the intersections of public health and the impact of historical policy decisions.  She wrote that researching and writing this paper exposed her to the lasting ideological and public health effects of colonialism on different populations, which expanded her understanding and interest in for-profit healthcare models. The committee of seven readers, who reviewed 17 entries, was particularly impressed by the depth and originality of her paper and by the quality and variety of resource materials.  Mazel tov, Bluma, on a job well done! –Wendy Kosakoff, Public Services and Outreach Librarian
