Gurock's Book Receives Greater Hudson Heritage Network Award for Excellence

The Wide World of Central Synagogue(Central Synagogue, 2014), written by Dr. Jeffrey S. Gurock, the Libby M. Klaperman Professor of Jewish History at Yeshiva University, was recently selected for a 2015 Greater Hudson Heritage Network Award for Excellence. The award celebrates works of art that display creativity and professional vision which contribute to the preservation and interpretation of the historic scene, material culture and diversity of the region. Gurock's book explores the rich history of Central Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in continuous use in New York City.
