Approximately 30 undergraduate and graduate student tutors attended this event, which helped participants reflect on fundamental aspects of their work, including listening, empathy, flexibility and honesty.
In addition, on March 4, Fitzgerald video-conferenced with students in a tutor education course taught by former Wilf writing tutor Dr. Sipai Klein (’02YC), now an assistant professor of English and writing studio director at Clayton State University. The discussion focused on a chapter from Fitzgerald’s coauthored tutor education textbook (forthcoming from Oxford University Press) as well as research students had completed themselves.
