On February 14, 2024, Wurzweiler students traveled to Albany to participate in NASW-New York State’s Capitol Action Day with funding from the WSSW Political Justice Fellowship Program. As part of the event, the students learned about effective advocacy with other social workers and students from around New York State. They also met with Senator Persaud and Senator Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick to advocate for updates to social work licensure, improve the student to social worker ratio in New York’s schools, and improve access to Medicaid home care for those in need.
