President Joel, Student Leaders, Vice Presidents and Deans Accept ALS Ice Bucket Challenge
With a bucket of ice cold water poured over his head, Yeshiva University President Richard M. Joel officially accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge, a worldwide phenomenon that has helped raise awareness and tens of millions of dollars to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a life-threatening neurodegenerative disorder.

President Joel took on the challenge, and made a donation to ALS research, after receiving several nominations from students, alumni and Rabbis Yair Hindin and Zalman Teitelbaum at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also issued his own challenge, nominating YU vice presidents, all the student leaders on the Israel Henry Beren and Wilf Campuses, and New York University President John Sexton.
Several vice presidents, students, deans and faculty have already taken part in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
