Each One Teach One, MTA's unique peer tutoring program, had a busy week, helping students prepare for math tests, writing essays, and teaching concepts of geometry. Our library was full during breakfast all week.
In general, when a student is in need of peer tutoring, Mrs. Levitt, the program coordinator, gets an email the night before, asking if a math/ composition tutor can be assigned. The selected student, not always a freshman, is invited into the library after davening and before shiur.
In that 20 minute time period, a student's faces lights up as concepts are clarified, and the students go off to their tests with a greater knowledge of a subject. Thanks go out to the devoted presidents of Arista for setting up this unique learning session and for arranging a schedule so that all Arista members are available to help.
