Leonard Fuld, director of the masters in taxation program at Sy Syms School of Business, will deliver a lecture on “Tax Principles” at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Fuld will provide an overview of basic U.S. tax laws and the current political and business climate in the U.S., including the possible impact of the recent tax reforms. He will also examine U.S. tax incentives for businesses, comparing them to other countries’ policies, including those of Israel. The U.S. has the fourth-highest corporate income tax rate in the world, according to Fuld, and the nation is behind in economic growth, jobs creation and competitiveness. “It was time to reform our U.S. tax code --- the first significant change in over 30 years,” he said. “These are exciting times, and everyone is interested in how these changes will affect businesses and their own pocketbooks.  I hope to shed some light on the changes that are underway and compare the reforms to current Israeli tax rules, especially with regard to investment capital.” The talk is slated for Tuesday, January 16 at 6:30 p.m. (Jerusalem time).
