Dr. Linda Carroll, director of upcoming masters of science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), recently delivered a lecture to the artists of the Chicago Lyric Opera Company on “Vocal health and avoiding vocal breakdown: establishing a successful, healthy, long career.” The lecture, which informed performers how to achieve and sustain a healthy voice for a career as an opera singer, was offered to the artists through the Ryan Opera Center at Chicago Lyric.
Carroll will also deliver a lecture at the upcoming New York Otolaryngology Update Conference on “Thinking outside the voice box: Strange things that work.” In November, she will instruct a course at the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Annual Convention, titled “Guide for the Non-Singer: SLP in management of the dysphonic singer” and represent Yeshiva University’s new SLP graduate program at the ASHA College fair.
