Dr. Carl Auerbach, professor at YU's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, published a letter to the editor in the September 8, 2013 edition of New York Times Magazine. In response to a profile of Rwandan President Paul Kagame that described him as "authoritarian" and "repressive," Auerbach argued that Kagame’s policies are a psychologically valid answer to the challenge of rebuilding the social fabric of Rwanda post-genocide.
