Jay Sweifach began his professional life as a youth director. His professional experience includes clinical work with both individuals and groups. He has over 35 manuscripts published in refereed academic journals.

Actively contributes to the literature on social work in the Jewish community, ethics, domestic violence, volunteerism, disaster work, group work practice, the Cuban Jewish Community, and sex education in schools. He has presented on these topics both nationally and internationally.
