YU Library Book Talk | Despite Everything: A Chronicle of Jewish Resilience in the Aftermath of October 7th Online

Despite Everything is a poignant collection of essays by Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz in response to the events of October 7th, 2023. These essays, originally published in The Jewish Journal and other writings, offer a profound exploration of resilience in the wake of unimaginable loss and pain.

Through the lens of Jewish tradition, Rabbi Steinmetz addresses the universal struggle to find meaning in tragedy and affirms the enduring strength of the Jewish people. With heartfelt insight and clarity, Despite Everything serves as a powerful reminder that, even in the darkest moments, we can hold onto hope, purpose, and the unshakable belief in a better future.

Rabbi Chaim Steinmetz is Senior Rabbi of Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun in New York City.  He received ordination from RIETS and an M.A. in Jewish Philosophy from the Bernard Revel Graduate School, as well as an M.A. in Education from Adelphi University.
