FRE 1101 or 1102 Elementary French I
3 Credits
Essentials of oral expression, listening comprehension, and basic reading and writing skills. 1101 is for students with no background. 1102 is for students with less than two years of high school French.

FRE 1201 Intermediate French I
3 Credits
Intensive review of grammar; readings in literature; exercises in composition and conversation. Prerequisite: two years of high school French or FRE 1102. Students with three years of high school French may enter 1202 with permission of the instructor.
