THE SOCIAL WORK FORUM,a refereed journal of social work practice and Jewish social thought published by the Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University, accepts manuscripts on a continuing basis. THE FORUM is devoted to presenting the current thinking, expertise and experience of faculty, social workers, and educators in the professional fields of social work and Jewish communal service.

An article published in the Forum recently won the 2005 Pro Humanitate Literary Award. Read more about the exceptional articleby child welfare advocate Tracey Field.

Now in its 40th year, THE FORUM has published scholarly articles in the areas of social work, Jewish communal service and social thought. Contributors are invited to submit articles for publication consideration to the Editors.

Instructions for Contributors

THE SOCIAL WORK FORUM seeks manuscripts of high academic quality. Manuscripts and communications should be sent to Professor Daniel Pollack, Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University, 2495 Amsterdam Avenue, New York, NY 10033-3299. Phone: (212) 960-0836.

Only manuscripts not submitted elsewhere for publication will be considered. Authors agree not to submit elsewhere a manuscript accept by the FORUM. Notification of acceptance, need for revision, or rejection will be made in eight weeks. Manuscripts are normally sent to at least two external reviewers. Upon acceptance, a computer disk (5.1) will be needed.

Manuscripts should be written in English. Four copies of the manuscript should be submitted. Page length should be 8½ by 11", approximately 15-20 double-spaced typewritten pages exclusive of references. An abstract of 100-125 words should be included.

Manuscripts will be acknowledged and returned only if the author(s) includes a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Manuscripts should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.

A title page should be included indicating four keywords for indexing purposes. A separate page, not attached to the title page or manuscript, should indicate the author(s), respective address(es), and which author is to receive correspondence and corrections, and a brief biographical sketch of the author(s).

All illustrations, charts, and figures should be "camera-ready" along with titles and an indication as to their placement in manuscript.

Footnotes should not be used.

Accepted manuscripts become the property of the FORUM and may not be published elsewhere without permission. Authors are requested to sign a copyright transfer agreement. Articles are edited for grammar and style.

Four copies of the FORUM in which the author’s article appears will be sent to each author in exchange for the FORUM’s copyright acquisition of the author’s article.
