       Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University in collaboration with the Washington Heights/Inwood YM/YWHA hosted an exploration of the unique relationship between the Dominican Republic and the German Jews of Sosua, who were offered refuge there during the persecution of the Jews in Nazi Germany. After a viewing of the film "SOSUA: MAKE A BETTER WORLD"  a dialogue and panel discussion with the film's producers ocurred,  Dr. Ramona Hernandez, chair of the Dominican Studies department at CUNY, City College, Denny Hertzberg, raised in Sosua, James Labi, LCSW, and Victoria Neznansky, LCSW, Director of Programming at WHI YM/YWHA and the creator of the film.
