• Women's Housing

  • Moving Out (Withdrawal)

Undergraduate University Housing closes for the summer on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at 11:00am.

If a student is moving out during the semester, she must complete a Housing Withdrawal Form. (link to pdf. of form) A student is only considered officially out of University Housing once her room is completely empty and her key has been returned to the University Housing and Residence Life office in Brookdale Residence Hall.

    Key Returns

Each student will be receiving an envelope from their RA, labeled with their name and housing assignment. Upon moving out, please place your keys in this envelope and close it securely. Leave the envelope in the Key Drop-Off Box next to the Security desk in your residence hall. (Students living in 251 Lexington should return their keys to the Drop-Off Box in any residence hall.)

    • All keys must be returned by Sunday, May 29th at 11am.
    • If you do not return your key by this time, you will be billed $35 for your room key and $10 for your mailbox key by the Office of Student Accounts.
    • Once you have handed in your key, you are officially out of housing, and your space must be empty.
    Move-Out

All your belongings need to be moved out, and your trash disposed of. Excessive garbage requires extra work for Facilities Management, please be considerate!

    • Each room will be receiving garbage bags from University Housing staff.
    • The University is not responsible for any items left in the residence halls.  All items left in your room will be discarded, not donated, immediately after closing.

    • A charge of $100 per room will be incurred if there is damage to the room/furniture or if excessive clean-up is required.
    Mail
Remember to check your mailbox before returning your keys for the academic year.  All first-class mail within the United States is forwarded to student's listed home address during the summer.  All International mail is held in the Brookdale RA office throughout the summer and is distributed in mailboxes at the beginning of the Fall semester.  If a student has graduated, her mail will be forwarded throughout the following summer. Beginning in the Fall, it will be returned to sender.
