    There is a laundry room located in the basement of each residence hall. There are two options to pay for the use of the laundry facilities.

    Students can use a credit card to set up an account. To activate a Smart Card online, go to www.hercnet.com By clicking on the red section on the Hercules homepage, the registration process will begin.

    Another option for activating a smart card is to call the Hercules automated phone system at 1-877-437-2912, which is available 24 hours a day. A live operator can be reached Monday through Friday from 7am-5pm at 1-877-470-4282. Increments of $25, $50 or $75 can be added onto a smart card using this set-up process.

    Additionally, one can use the cash machine, which is located in the Brookdale Laundry Room, to add money to a smart card.

    Residence Life staff will be distributing the Smart Cards to each room the first week of the semester. Replacement laundry cards can be picked up from the Office of University Housing and Residence Life, located on the first floor of Brookdale Residence Hall.

    When setting up an online account, each student should select the address of the dormitory she is currently residing in. All residents of Schottenstein Residence Hall should click "120/121 East 29th Street".

    Please note: If a student wants to use her smart card in another building, she must update the CVA number and address either online or over the phone to reflect the new location.

    1. Where can I locate my coded value adder (CVA) ID number? The CVA ID number is printed on the brochure that was included with the laundry card, and on the CVA machine itself in the laundry room.
    2. What happens after a card is registered? After registering a Smart Card, a 10-digit Authorization Code will be sent via email. This authorization code must be used within 30 days.
    3. Can a smart card be used anywhere at any time? Your Smart Card Authorization Code must be entered into the CVA machine in your building's laundry room within 30 days.
    4. What do I do with Smart Card once I am in the laundry room? While in your laundry room, insert your Smart Card into the CVA Machine on the wall and enter the 10-digit Authorization Code number you received via email. The funds you purchased on the computer are now entered onto your Smart Card.
    5. Do I have to write down and retain any numbers in order to add value to my Card? Yes, you must retain the 10-digit Activation Code number to add value at the CVA.
    6. How long does the money stay on my card? Once you punch in those numbers and the money is added, it will remain on card until it is used in the washers and/or dryers.
