An internationally known storyteller, teacher, author, and recording artist, Peninnah
Schram is associate professor of speech and drama at SCW. Professor Schram received a BA from the University of Connecticut and an MA in speech and theater from Columbia University. She came to SCW in 1969, and has taught such courses as Speech Communication, Oral Interpretation of Literature, History of Theater, Storytelling, and Mass Media. Professor Schram’s research interests are primarily in Jewish storytelling and Jewish oral tradition, and she is the author of seven books of Jewish folktales.
