Anatoly Frenkel is a professor of physics who started teaching at SCW in 2001. He received both a BS and MS in physics from St. Petersburg University in Russia, and a PhD in physics from Tel-Aviv University. His research focuses on X-ray studies of novel materials of interest to nanoscience and nanotechnology, physics of catalysis, and development of new analytical tools in material science. He is one of the founders, and the spokesperson of Synchrotron Catalysis Consortium at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Dr. Frenkel is the author of more than a 100 journal articles and book chapters. He regularly involves SCW students in his research at Stern College and at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
