Cultural Events
September 12 (Friday) – 10:00 - 12:00 – Grand Central Terminal
Expert tour guides form the Municipal Arts Society of New York will lead us on a walking tour of Manhattan’s famous transportation hub. They will introduce us to the history, architecture, and secrets of one of New York City’s most heavily trafficked landmarks.
November 23 (Sunday) – 4:45 - 7:00 – Lincoln Center Chamber Music
We will enjoy a performance of the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society, featuring the world-renowned pianist Pierre-Laurent Aimard, playing works by Robert Schumann, Frederic Chopin, Claude Debussy, Bela Bartok, and others. The concert is the final in a series of evocative programs of music inspired by the night.
December 5 (Friday) – 9:45 -12:00 – Metropolitan Museum of Art
At the start of our visit, we will be led on a highlights tour of the museum’s vast collection of more than two million works of art. Afterward, students will be able to explore the museum on their own.

September 21 (Sunday) – 7:00 - 9:15 – Evelyn Pike Rubin
The author of Ghetto Shanghai will join us to introduce and answer questions about the acclaimed documentary for which she was interviewed, “Shanghai Ghetto.” The movie traces the history of the 20,000 Jews who escaped to Shanghai before WWII.
October 28 (Tuesday) – 7:00 - 8:30 – Adina Levine
An early graduate of the S. Daniel Abraham Honors Program and a Harvard Law School alumna, Adina Levine now is a practicing attorney at the New York City law firm Kramer Levin. She will discuss her career and share her advice for current undergraduates.
November 19 (Wednesday) – 7:00 - 8:30 – Dr. Joanna Dobroszycki
An associate professor of clinical pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Dobroszycki specializes in infectious diseases, especially HIV, affecting children and adolescents. She will talk about her work and offer her advice regarding careers in the sciences.
Leadership Session
September 15 (Monday) – 6:45 - 9:00 – Successful Negotiating
Lee Miller, co-author of A Woman's Guide to Successful Negotiating: How to Convince, Collaborate, and Create Agreement and the Managing Director of NegotiationPlus.com, will introduce us to an assortment of strategies and techniques for negotiating in personal and professional relationships. A casual dinner will be served.
December 15 (Monday) – 6:45 - 9:00 – Interview Skills
Kate Berrio, Assistant Director of Career Development at Yeshiva University, will lead an interactive leadership session focusing on the etiquette of professional interviews. A casual dinner will be served.
Other Fall Events
September 3 (Wednesday) at 6:00 – First Year Dinner / Theater
First year students in the S. Daniel Abraham Honors Program and the Jeanie and Jay Schottenstein Program are invited to attend a dinner at the Yeshiva University Museum and a private performance of the play “The Quarrel.” A discussion with the playwrights, performers, and director will conclude the evening.
September 23 (Tuesday) at 7:00 – Senior Project Meeting
All juniors and seniors in the Honors Program are required to attend this meeting, at which Professors Miriam Grosof and Cynthia Wachtell will discuss the process of writing a Senior Project.
