March 20 (Friday) - 9:00 - 12:00 - Museum of Natural History
Our morning-long VIP visit to the American Natural History Museum will begin, before the museum opens to the public, with a guided tour of the exhibit Climate Change: The Threat to Life and A New Energy Future. Next, we will head to the Rose Center’s Planetarium to see “Space Show: Cosmic Collision.” Afterwards, we will experience the Butterfly Conservatory, and then we will have time to self-tour
May 1 (Friday) - 9:30 - 11:00 - Central Park Historic Tour
How did 843 acres of swampy, muddy terrain become transformed into one of the world’s premier public spaces? As we promenade through the heart of central park, tour guides will introduce us to the park’s history and explain how the designers, Fredrick law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, struggled to make their vision a reality.

January 26 (Monday) – 6:45 - 8:30 – Ambassador Alfred Moses
Ambassador Alfred Moses, a former US Ambassador to Romania and a long-term partner at the Washington law firm Covington and burling, will join us to discuss his career and to offer his thoughts on how to make a difference in the world. A group dinner will precede his talk.
February 11 (Wednesday) – 7:00 - 8:30 – Shelley Zalis
Shelley Zalis, the CEO and founder of OTX, the fastest growing research agency in the United States, will deliver a talk titled, “The new Corporate Culture: How we created a lifestyle company through passion, Purpose, Process & People.”
March 2 (Monday) – 7:00 - 9:00 – Father Patrick Desbois
Father Patrick Desbois - the recipient of the 2008 Jewish book Award for his work, The Holocaust By bullets: A Priest’s Journey to Uncover the Truth Behind the Murder of 1.5 Million Jews - will be delivering the annual Hillel Rogoff Memorial lecture at Stern College.
Leadership Session
February 24 (Tuesday) – 6:45 - 8:30 – Self-Presentation
Ellen Reeves, author of the forthcoming guidebook for college students, Can I Wear My Nose Ring to the Interview?- Finding, Landing, and Keeping Your First Real Job, will lead an interactive session titled “Presenting Yourself On and Off Paper: A Crash Course in Conveying Confidence and Competence.” A casual dinner will be served.
Other Spring Events
February 18 (Wednesday) – 7:00— 8:45 – Senior Project Meeting
All second-semester seniors are required to attend this meeting. Each students will briefly present her research findings, and professors Miriam Grosof and Cynthia Wachtell will discuss the final steps of the Senior Project process.
April 23 (Thursday evening) – Tenth Anniversary Celebration!
All current students in the Honors program are expected to attend this celebratory event marking the 10th anniversary of the Honors Program. We will be joined by Honors Program alumnae, President Richard Joel, Dean Karen Bacon, and members of the Honors Program faculty committee.
