  • Meet YU's 2012-2013 Presidential Fellows

    As always, we are proud to present our newest Presidential Fellows. Although they hail from different backgrounds, they all have something in common: their energy and commitment are an inspiration to all of us at Yeshiva University

  •  Faygel Beren
    Faygel BerenFaygel Beren is from Baltimore, Maryland. She majored in biology at Stern College for Women and plans to pursue a career in the biomedical science, as a physician, researcher or both. Formerly involved in numerous research projects and clubs on campus, Faygel will be working in the Stern College for Women Office of the Dean.
     Daniel Elefant
    Daniel ElefantDaniel Elefant is from Cedarhurst, New York, and majored in biology at Yeshiva College. Daniel served as president of the YU Medical Ethics Society and planned and implemented the largest Medical Ethics Conference to date. Planning to pursue a career in medicine, Daniel will be working in the Center for the Jewish Future Office of the Dean.
     Noey Jacobson
    JacobsonNoey Jacobson is from Houston, Texas. He majored in English and plans to pursue a joint degree in public and business administration. Working this year in the Office of the President, he hopes to find a career in communal work. Noey is also a member of the Maccabeats and has performed in Jewish communities around the world.
     Josh Gottesman
    GottesmanJosh Gottesman, from Beachwood, Ohio, majored in political science at Yeshiva College and was on the Dean's List every semester. An avid basketball player, Josh hopes to become a successful litigator while involving himself in the betterment of the Jewish community. He will be working in the Office of the General Counsel.
     Aaron Greenstein
    GreensteinAaron Greenstein is from Denver, Colorado, and plans to pursue a career in medicine. Aaron double majored in biology and Judaic studies at Yeshiva College and was president of Yeshiva College Student Association and the YU Heights Initiative. He will be working on the Kohelet Fellowship project in the Center for the Jewish Future.
     Elana Honick
    HonickElana Honick is from Baltimore, Maryland, and plans to pursue a career in law, specifically in the public sector and Jewish community. She majored in political science at Stern College for Women and will be working in the Center for the Jewish Future's Office of Experiential Jewish Education and Service Learning.
     Moshe Peters
    PetersMoshe Peters is from Queens, New York, and majored in English with a minor in Jewish Studies. He plans to pursue a career in law, which will allow him to utilize his passion for Talmud. Editor-in-chief of his class's yearbook, Moshe will be working in the Yeshiva College Office of the Dean.
     Mordy Prus
    PrusMordy Prus is from Brooklyn, New York. He majored in psychology at Yeshiva College and plans to pursue a career in Jewish education. He will be working in the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary Office of the Dean and will simultaneously be studying for rabbinic ordination there. Mordy is also a member of the Maccabeats and has performed in Jewish communities around the world.
     Racheli Taubes
    TaubesRacheli Taubes is from Brooklyn, New York, and plans to pursue a career in Jewish education. She majored in Jewish education with a minor in chemistry at Stern College for Women through the Legacy Heritage Jewish Educators Program. Also pursuing graduate degrees in Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration and Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, Racheli will be working in the Institute for University-School Partnership.
     Tamar Schwarzbard
    SchwarzbardTamar Schwarzbard is from Brooklyn, New York, and majored in history at Stern College for Women. Planning to pursue a career in public policy affecting the Jewish people, Tamar is particular passionate about the American-Israel relationship and Holocaust education. She will be working in the Office of Student Life.
     Dena Shayne
    ShayneDena Shayne is from Great Neck, New York. She double majored in psychology and sociology at Stern College for Women and hopes to pursue a law degree and then go into social justice advocacy, focusing on third world women’s education and empowerment. A former student council president and captain of Stern’s volleyball team, Dena will be working in the Office of Admissions.
     Binyamin Smith
    SmithBinyamin Smith is from Los Angeles, California. He majored in marketing at the Sy Syms School of Business and plans to enter that field, focusing on analytics. Binyamin served as the student chair for the Student Academic Affairs Committee and will be working in the Office of the Provost.
     Adam Tepler
    TeplerAdam Tepler is from Miami Beach, Florida. He majored in chemistry at Yeshiva College and plans to attend medical school after completing the Fellowship. Adam served as president of Yeshiva Student Union and will continue to represent YU through his work in the Office of Admissions.
     Nomi Teplitsky
    TeplitskyNomi Teplitsky is from Toronto, Ontario. She majored in English communications and plans to pursue a career in graphic design or advertising. She has had several internships in public relations and communications and will bring that experience to her work in the Office of Communications and Public Affairs.
     Ethan Wasserman
    WassermanEthan Wasserman is from Coral Springs, Florida, and double majored in psychology and political science at Yeshiva College. President of Yeshiva University’s Political Awareness Club, Ethan has represented YU at AIPAC conferences around the United States. Ethan plans to pursue a career in business and consulting after completing his work in the Sy Syms School of Business Office of the Dean.
     Mordy Weinstein
    WeinsteinMordy Weinstein is from Brooklyn, New York. He double majored in music and psychology at Yeshiva College and will be working in the Office of Admissions. The founder and director of a student a cappella group called the Y-Studs, Mordy wants to further develop performances and recordings of Jewish music as he pursues a career in therapy.
     Anosh Zaghi
    ZaghiAnosh Zaghi is from Boca Raton, Florida. He majored in accounting at the Sy Syms School of Business and plans to pursue a career in law. A former chief justice of the Student Court, Anosh will be working in the Center for the Jewish Future's Office of Experiential Jewish Education and Service Learning.
     Josh Zimmerman
    ZimmermanJosh Zimmerman is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and majored in psychology at Yeshiva College. Planning to pursue a career in social work or public administration, Josh is passionate about being an advocate for those who cannot be one for themselves. A former president of the Student Academic Affairs Committee, Josh will be working in the Office of the Registrar.
