ABOUT THE OFFICE

The Payroll Department is responsible for calculating the payroll for all employees of the University and its Affiliates, in an accurate and timely manner.  In doing so, the Department also ascertains that all deductions from employee wages—i.e. employee fringe benefits, voluntary deductions, and all payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels—are implemented correctly and comply with all payroll statutory regulations.  In addition, the Department processes payments/remittances and reports to all taxing agencies, third-party benefits administrators, and issues annual Wage and Tax Statements, Form W2 and Form 1042S to employees and non-resident alien workers, respectively.

The Payroll Department, through its Time and Effort unit, is also responsible for allocating payroll cost to the various departments and related general ledger accounts.
