To manually run Live Update:

Open the Symantec AntiVirus window by double-clicking on the following icon in the system tray, at the lower right corner of your screen:

In the Symantec AntiVirus window, click on "Live Update":

Click "Next" on the following screens until Symantec AntiVirus is updated.

Click "Finish" to close the window, and your virus definitions will now be up to date.

To automatically run Live Update each day (recommended)

Open the Symantec AntiVirus window by double-clicking on the following icon in the system tray, at the lower right corner of your screen:

Select "Schedule Updates" from the File menu:

Check the "Enable scheduled automatic updates" box, then click the "Schedule.." button:

Select "Daily", and set a time when your computer will be on and connected to the internet each day:

Click "OK" to save your settings, then "OK" on the next window, then click "Exit" to finish.
