MEDEX TRAVEL ASSIST PROGRAM

Effective July 1, 2009, MEDEX Travel Assist replaces Assist America as the travel assistance program for members of the Yeshiva University life insurance program.  MEDEX Travel Assist will provide travel assistance to you or your family members whenever you travel 100 miles or more from home whether you are traveling for business or pleasure.

MEDEX Travel Assist is a comprehensive program of information, referral, assistance, transportation and evacuation services designed to help you respond to medical care situations and other emergencies that may arise during travel.

You can access pre-trip assistance, medical assistance services and emergency transportation services depending on your needs and circumstances.

  • Pre-trip assistance provides you with information such as a listing of consulate and embassy locations, currency exchange information, health hazards, advice and inoculations, just to name a few.
  • Medical assistance services can help you locate local sources for medical care, translation and interpreter services, and also prescription drug assistance if you’ve forgotten, or lost your medications while traveling.
  • Emergency transportation services can arrange for and provide emergency evacuation, medically necessary repatriation, and family or friend travel arrangements to accompany you if you are traveling alone and are hospitalized for more than seven days.

The services listed above are just a sampling of the types of assistance available to you and your family members.
