Charles Swencionis

Associate Professor of Psychology, Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology

Dr. Charles Swencionis received his PhD from Stanford University in 1978. He has served as the chair of the American Psychological Association's Continuing Education Committee and the Education and Training Committee of its Division of Health Psychology. He received the Milton Rosenbaum Award for postdoctoral research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. His current research includes obesity treatment in cardiovascular risk; quality of life in anti-hypertensive treatment; and self efficacy in obesity treatment. His writing, on topics of psychological factors in physical health, includes the recent The Healing Brain: A Scientific Reader, of which he is co-editor. His research is supported by the National Institute of Health.
