ACTIVITIES
The Yeshiva Unviersity Center for Israel Studies is a catalyst for inquiry and insight. Housed in New York and Jerusalem, crossroads of intellectual dialogue and cultural exchange, the Center serves as a resource for the international academic community and also offers public education to a broad and influential audience.
The Center supports curriculum development, research, conferences, publications, museum exhibitions and public programs.
CENTER FOR ISRAEL STUDIES ACTIVITIES
SUMMER-IN-ISRAEL EXPERIENCE
This undergraduate program of academic coursework, fieldwork and internships is led by Israeli and US scholars.
VISITING PROFESSORS PROGRAM
Distinguished scholars from US and Israeli institutions teach courses, conduct research and participate in conferences on Yeshiva University’s New York campuses.
NEW COURSES
The Center has developed courses in the Israeli Business Environment; Art in Jerusalem; the Sociology of Israeli Identities; Israeli Political Thought; and Philosophy of Zionism, among other subjects, at Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women, Sy Syms School of Business and Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies.
LECTURES
Recent programs featured Nathan Aviezer, professor of physics at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, and other noted scholars.
MUSEUM EXHIBITIONS
Exhibitions and related lectures and cultural events spearheaded by the Center include Imagining the Temple: The Models of Leen Ritmeyer; Bread/Lechem, photographs of Margalit Mannor; and The Six Day War Series, paintings by Ira Moskowitz.

CONFERENCES
Major academic conferences feature world-class scholars representing distinctive perspectives and approaches. Recent conferences include: The Temple of Jerusalem from Moses to the Messiah (2008); Israel and India: A Relationship Comes of Age (2009).
FACULTY THINK TANKS
Theme-based working groups develop interdisciplinary research and publication projects on such topics as Israel, Science and Technology; and Modern Israel and International Affairs.
RESEARCH CONSORTIUM
Yeshiva University faculty and students participate in the West Semitic Research Project, a consortium of major research universities dedicated to the interpretation of ancient inscriptions.
