FACULTY

Welcome Faculty and Staff!

The Career Development Center (CDC) offers a wide range of programs and resources to undergraduate students from Yeshiva College, Stern College for Women, and Sy Syms School of Business on both the Beren and Wilf campuses.  Our efforts are intended to support students’ career development in areas including major selection, vocational testing and career planning, graduate and professional school advising, resumes and cover letters, mock interviews, educational seminars, and special programs.

We are eager to collaborate with faculty and administration to help our students achieve their goals for academic and career success. We encourage you to refer students, no matter what year at Yeshiva (they can never start too early!), to take advantage of our resources and services. We would also welcome the opportunity to partner with you in developing events targeted at the career options available to students with a background in your discipline. For example, by serving as an expert on a panel, connecting our office with accomplished alumni or other professionals in a given field, or sharing any employer contacts, you can greatly contribute to the success of our office and of YU students.

Don’t Cancel That Class!
The Career Development Center has developed a series of workshops designed to be presented in classes when the instructor is unable to be present. Should you need to be out of town for a conference or any other reason, please let us know if you’d be interested in having one of our staff members present on a career-related topic. We will work together to find the most appropriate topic and can gladly tailor our presentation based on your input.

Some of the topics we’ve covered in the past include:

  • Resume Writing
  • Career Planning
  • Interviewing Techniques
  • Job/Internship Search Techniques
  • Professionalism on the Job
  • Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Assessment and Training

To take advantage of this program, please contact us at cdc@yu.edu. Print out a “Don’t Cancel That Class” card to remind yourself! Click here for a wallet-size version.

Please note we’re also available to speak for a brief duration of time to provide an overview to your students about our services and resources. Again, we can gear this towards the particular group of students in your class.

We need your help - Join YU InfoLink!
We are looking for professionals to participate in YU InfoLink, a new database that will allow the CDC to connect undergraduates with individuals in their field for career and graduate school information for educational and exploration purposes. If you, or someone you know, would like to participate, simply click on this link:
https://yu-csm.symplicity.com/mentors
Contact information will only be made available to a student once he/she has met with a career counselor and thoroughly discussed networking, informational interviewing, and other areas of professional etiquette.
