MISSION
The Career Development Center is dedicated to providing Yeshiva College, Stern College and the Sy Syms School of Business students and alumni with the tools and resources necessary to successfully manage their career goals. The Center is also committed to connecting employers with qualified candidates to successfully meet their recruiting needs. We partner with students, employers, and the Yeshiva community in the professional development of our students and the development of employer relationships.
The Center’s Employer Relations professionals are dedicated to initiating and maintaining relationships with potential employers for the purposes of strengthening the connections between students and employers and maximizing students’ employment opportunities. Our approach provides employers with excellent service that is professional, tailored, and flexible. We partner with employers to define the most appropriate and effective means for you to get to know and recruit our students and graduates.
SERVICES FOR EMPLOYERS
Recruiting Options
Position Posting
Employers may post full-time, part-time or internship positions with the Career Development Center by submitting a position directly onto our website through our YU CareerLink system. If you have questions, our staff will work with you on posting a position according to your specifications.
On-Campus Recruiting
The Career Development Center offers on-campus interviewing opportunities to employers during both the fall and spring semesters for both internship and full-time positions. Formal on-campus recruiting activities are typically scheduled from late September through late November in the fall semester, and from early February through early April in the spring semester.
Information Sessions
Employers are invited to host information sessions at Yeshiva prior to your on- or off-campus recruiting date to inform students about your organization and opportunities within. The Career Development Center will assist you in reserving appropriate space for your on-campus Information Session. Employers may send recruiting material to our office in advance.
Career Fair
Registration for the Spring 2009 Career Fair is now closed. We hope you can join us next year to talk with students, distribute company and job information, and collect resumes.
Company Site Visits
The Career Development Center partners with student clubs and organizations to coordinate company site visits during the fall and spring semesters for small groups of students. These visits are designed to give students exposure to your organization, its work, and its people.
Building a Presence on Campus
We welcome employers’ involvement with the Career Development Center and Yeshiva University students. You are invited to visit our campus, host corporate presentations, speak at career management workshops and student club events, or volunteer to be a professional mentor to students. Participating in these programs and services is a great way to connect with Yeshiva University students, increase your organization’s visibility on campus, and meet potential candidates.
Corporate Presentations
Corporate presentations are an effective way for company representatives and Yeshiva/Stern College students to learn more about each other. They provide an opportunity for you to share information about your organization, industry, and professional functions. We recommend that presentations be scheduled during lunch or evening hours. The Career Development Center will assist you in scheduling a date and coordinating your event.
Student Clubs
Student clubs offer companies the opportunity to make contacts with students representing special interests. Many student organizations welcome guest speakers to present to their membership. The CDC serves as a bridge to our student leaders and employers, as we can partner with both to facilitate connections.
Special Panels and Workshops
We welcome employer participation in special panels and workshops for students. Topics may include: tips and trends regarding your company, industry, or profession; the insider’s perspective on your company’s hiring process; or a topic of your choice. Given the high interest level on the part of students to attend such events, these are valuable opportunities for your organization to establish a presence on campus.
Corporate Literature in the Career Development Center Student Resource Files
Students conduct research on companies and prepare for interviews using the materials kept in the Student Resource Files. If you would like to have your corporate literature or annual report made available to our students, please send information to the Career Development Center. We encourage employers to send materials annually to ensure we have the most updated version on file.
