Prepared 5 Apr 99 - subject to change. If instructional time is lost because of inclement weather or other emergency, changes in the academic calendar will be made, either by extending the semester, or by whatever other modifications are necessary. Dates apply to all schools unless otherwise specified.
All dates are inclusive. The following abbreviations are used:

September 13, Monday — Fast of Gedalya, Main Campus, No Classes after 1:00pm; Midtown Campus, No Classes

September 17, Friday — Last Day to Enter New Class Without Special Permission2

September 17, Friday — Last Day to File for January Degree

September 19-October 4, Sunday-Monday — Yom Kippur through Sukkot, No Classes

October 8, Friday — YC: Hebrew Language CreditlExemption Exam for HEB 120511206 Administered

 

November 2, Tuesday — Election Day, Main Campus: Follows a Sunday Schedule After 1:00pm; Midtown: No Classes; Faculty Development Day

November 4-10, Thursday-Wednesday — IBC, JSS, MYP, and SBMP, Midterm Examinations; No SSB-Uptown or YC Non-Jewish Studies Tests

November 17, Wednesday — Last Day for Eligible Students to Withdraw with Partial Tuition Refund

November 24, Wednesday — Last Day to Withdraw from a Course3 — Main Campus

November 25-26, Thursday-Friday — Thanksgiving Break, No Classes

November 28, Sunday — MYP Classes Follow Regular Sunday Schedule

November 29-December 3, Monday-Friday — Period to file for PIN Grade

 

December 3, Friday — Last Day to Withdraw from a Course3 — Midtown Campus

December 5, Sunday — MYP Chanukah Vacation

December 9, Thursday — Chanukah, Main Campus Follows a Sunday Schedule After 1:00pm; Midtown: Regular Class Schedule

December 19, Sunday — Fast 10th of Tevet, Regular Classes

December 23, 2 7-29, Thursday, Monday-Wednesday — Reading Period, (Laboratories Continue)4 — Midtown Campus

December 26-31, Sunday-Friday — Reading Period, (Laboratories Continue)4 — Main Campus

December 28-30, Tuesday-Thursday — IBCIJSSIMYP/SBMP Finals (Last MYP Session—December 28; MYP Finals—December 30)

December 30-January 6, Thursday-Thursday — Fall Semester Final Examinations — Midtown       Campus

 

January 2-9, Sunday-Sunday — Fall Semester Final Examinations — Main Campus

January 7-23, Friday-Sunday — Intersession — Midtown Campus

January 10-23, Monday-Sunday — Intersession — Main Campus

 

NOTES:

  1. Students are advised to submit their applications for graduation to the Registrar at registration and not wait until the deadline.
  2. With written permission of the instructor and school dean or director, students may enter a class up to two weeks later.
  3. November 24 on the Main Campus or December 3 on the Midtown Campus is the last day to withdraw from a course and to change Hebraic Studies transfer credit without special permission from the dean or director and without notation on the record. However, the proper forms must be filed in the Office of the Registrar.
  4. Reading Period is the 14th contact week of the semester. Classes meet at the discretion of instructors; No exams or finals may be given; Laboratories meet.

September 1, Friday — Last Day to Complete Requirements (all grades in) for September Degree
