Need-Based Aid

In order to apply for student aid, students must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). There are two ways to fill out a FAFSA:

  • The most efficient method is to fill out the FAFSA online by going to the YU student aid website www.fafsa.ed.gov
  • You can complete a paper FAFSA that you obtain from most high schools and colleges or by calling 800-4-FED-AID. Using the paper version will delay the processing and response.

YU uses the FAFSA as well as other relevant information that you provide to determine your financial aid package. A package may be composed of grants, loans, and work study programs.

Yeshiva University's FAFSA code is 002903.

International students who do not hold US citizenship should fill out the Foreign Student Financial Aid Application. All US citizens must fill out the FAFSA in order to apply for need-based aid, even if they hold dual citizenship with another country.

Please visit the Student Aid website for more information and full instructions on how to apply for Student Aid.
