Scholarship Reconsideration

     Students who have been previously admitted to the Honors Program and awarded an academic scholarship may request reconsideration by the Honors Committee in light of recent accomplishments.  Those requesting reconsideration must submit the following:

dot The Scholarship Reconsideration Form 

dot One Honors Admissions Essay.  The essay must be 400-500 words, chosen from the following:

  

1.  Some people maintain a list of places they'd like to see or experiences they’d like to have at least once in their life.  Pick an item off your list, and explain its importance to you.

 

2.  Thomas Alva Edison said “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.”  Do you agree?  What has been your personal formula for success?

 

3.  Discuss something you learned in a secular studies course that has impacted your Jewish life.

 

4.  The Jewish People can take pride in its many contributions to general society.  Which of Judaism’s great teachings has had the most impact on the world?

dot One Reconsideration Essay.  The essay should describe how the applicant has grown in the year since the original application.

dot One letter of recommendation from a faculty member or administrator at their Israel school.

dot An interview for scholarship reconsideration is NOT MANDATORY.  Students may request an interview as part of their re-application essay, and the Honors Committee will grant such interviews at their discretion.  Interviews for re-applicants will be conducted together with all Israel applicants at the Gruss Center in January.
