Applying from High School
Students who wish to apply to the Honors Program must submit, in addition to the basic college application, the following special requirements for honors candidates:
 two essays in lieu of the general admissions essay. The essays must be 400-500 words, chosen (one each) from the two categories below:

CATEGORY A

1. Some people maintain a list of places they'd like to see or experiences they’d like to have at least once in their life. Pick an item off your list, and explain its importance to you.

2. Thomas Alva Edison said “Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.” Do you agree? What has been your personal formula for success?

CATEGORY B
|
|
1. Discuss something you learned in a secular studies course that has impacted your Jewish life.
|
|
2. The Jewish People can take pride in its many contributions to general society. Which of Judaism’s great teachings has had the most impact on the world?

an Honors Program interview. The Honors Program interview must be scheduled with the office of Admissions, and all other elements of the application must be complete prior to the interview. The interview exempts the honors applicant from the standard admissions interview. Each interview date will be part of a half day program at Yeshiva University, including an opportunity to sit in on classes and to meet with faculty and current honors students. Men’s interviews are held at the uptown Wilf Campus, women’s at the midtown Beren Campus. Honors Days will be held as follows:
