  • Deans' Scholars

     

    Students applying to Yeshiva University are automatically considered for the Deans' Scholars Program. No special application is required.

    To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Present a high school transcript with a GPA exceeding 90 or equivalent
    • Score either an SAT of at least 1300 (Critical Reading and Math) or an ACT Composite of at least 29

    Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to Yeshiva University's philosophy of Torah Umadda and exhibit leadership potential through their extracurricular activities and community involvement.

    Deans' Scholars are:

    • Eligible to enroll in Honors courses, including summer travel courses
    • Invited to attend a special Dean’s Reception during their year in Israel and a special Dean’s Reception upon their arrival on campus in New York
    • Encouraged to apply for one of two Deans' Scholars Academic Enrichment Program (see more information about these programs on the right) 
    • Provided with an Apple iPad 2 for use on campus, and which they may take with them upon graduation from YU
    • Offered an academic scholarship. Deans' Scholarships start at $5,000 per year and are fully deferrable.

  • Deans' Scholars Academic Enrichment Program
    The Deans' Scholars Academic Enrichment Program offers outstanding students in Yeshiva University's undergraduate schools the opportunity to participate in one of two cooperative programs:
     
    • Frontiers in Biomedical Science: Theory and Practice 
     
    This project is under the direction of Dr. Edward Burns, Executive Dean of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.  The seminar will meet six Fridays during the semester at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and will feature leading biomedical scientists and their research.
    • Law, Dispute, Resolution, and Justice 
    This project is under the direction of Edward Stein, Vice-Dean of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  The seminar will meet six Fridays during the semester at the Cardozo School of Law with prominent members of the Cardozo faculty to explore selected issues related to constitutional law, civil rights, international law, public policy, and other topics.
     
     
    Deans' Scholars are invited to apply to the program by August 1, 2012 upon beginning their academic careers at Yeshiva University. To apply, complete this application
