Wurzweiler provides a variety of cutting edge internet services to simplify our academic work. On this page you will find "gateways" to these services as well as contact numbers for assistance, and other information.
Because the services come from different internet providers, most will require different "user names" and passwords. Please write these down and keep them in a safe place; if you lose them, replacing them will involve time and effort.
E-RES provides course packs with full text articles that students can access from their home computers. In some cases these can include excerpts from text books, books, and newspaper and magazine articles.
Professors must provide Shulamis Landesman (Landesma@yu.edu) with curriculums or reserve reading lists two months prior to the start of the semester. More information about ERES.
ANGEL enables faculty to put up a website to enhance a course without any special programming skills. Using Angel, you can ...
Make course materials such as syllabi, schedules, announcements, lecture notes, quizzes, and multimedia resources available on the Web at one location .
Introduce exciting new learning opportunities to your students using its communication features such as course mail, real-time chats, and discussion boards .
Track student participation and grade assignments (both online and off-line) using the ANGEL environment .
ANGEL is very flexible. You can use it as much or as little as you like.
Evan Silberman is the Angel coordinator. Contact him for training, questions, and enrolement (Angel must be requested for each course) at Angelsupport@yu.eduor 212 960-0146.
The following should be included with your syllabus or list:
your name
the e-mail address to which we should send the E-RES password
course name and number
complete bibliographic citations for the reserve material.
Photocopying and scanning are part of the Libraries’ E-RES service. Should you choose to provide photocopies, these should include:
title page of the journal or book
copyright statement page of the journal or the book.
(Most contemporary journals include the journal title and the copyright statement on the first page of each article. In such cases no additional pages are needed.)
Photocopies need to be:
· clean. Too much black is a problem.
· complete. Watch for cutoff text.
· clearly legible.
Please note that copyright restrictions may prevent us from putting some material on E-RES. We will inform you when this is the case. Back to Top
