PRESS RELEASE
On Monday, June 16 Yeshiva University – Center for the Jewish Future, Yeshivat Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchanan, will convene a special, first of its kind, conference for Assistant Rabbis. The conference is being held at the Edmond J. Safra Synagogue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Rabbi Ronald Schwarzberg, Director of the Morris and Gertrude Bienenfeld Department of Jewish Career Development and Placement at Yeshiva University, and Rabbi Elly Krimsky, Assistant Director, will be facilitating the days discussions.
The conference will explore the roles that assistant rabbis play, and the various models of the position in different synagogues. Together, the group of assistant rabbis will work with our rabbinic professional staff to better understand the potential for the position, develop their individual plans to grow in their respective positions and careers, and craft a working document to help guide future assistant rabbis and communities to better appreciate the position for the future.
