• Library Reserves

  • Books, journal articles and audio visual materials assigned for individual courses are placed on Reserve by members of the faculty in order to make them readily available to students.  Many of these may be accessed online through E-RES , the Electronic Reserves System. Others are held at the Library Reserve Desks and may generally be checked out for two hours, or overnight.  Selected high-demand or out-of-print books may be placed on reserve permanently.

How to Find the Call Number of a Reserve Item?

In order to request reserve material you must find the call number of the item in the YULIS catalog and present it at the Reserve Desk.  You may search by author or title.

If you know only the instructor's name, go to the YULIS catalog, select Reserves Search and enter the last name of your instructor. Click on your course name to find the list of the required readings with their call numbers.

    E-Reserves

Journal articles, book chapters, or other readings may be posted on E-RES for easy online access from either on-campus or off-campus locations.

Select E-RES on the library homepage to find the readings for your course.  For help in navigating the system, check out our online E-Reserves Guide.
