    Application Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA in the prerequisite coursework (see below for prerequisites)
    • GRE scores for verbal, quantitative and writing (no minimum score required)
    • Personal statement describing your career, motivation to become a speech-language pathologist (2-3 pages, typed)
    • Current resume
    • Two recommendation letters (professional and/or academic)
    • TOEFL scores (if applicable)
    • Interview may be required at the discretion of the admissions committee

    All students must demonstrate English speaking and comprehension skills appropriate for academic and clinical purposes. Non-native English speakers are required to pass the TOEFL (program code 7619) with a minimum score of 610 (253 on computer-based) and may require additional accent reduction or ESL instruction.


    Prerequisite Coursework

    Applicants must show proof of satisfactory completion of all prerequisite coursework. Prerequisites may be fulfilled with courses taken at the graduate or undergraduate levels.

    • Phonetics of American English or Phonetics (3 credits)
    • Anatomy and Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism (3 credits)
    • Introduction to Speech-Language Pathology (3 credits)
    • Introduction to Audiology (3 credits)
    • Speech Science (3 credits)
    • Hearing Science (3 credits)
     
    • English (6 credits)
    • Social Science (6 credits)
    • Biological Science (3credits—lab not required)
    • Physical Science (3 credits—lab not required)
    • Statistics (3 credits)
    • History (3 credits)
    • Arts (3 credits)
    • Non-English Language (3 credits)
     

    Tuition and Fees

    Application Fee:     $55.00    
    Tuition: $1100.00/credit (three courses also include lab fees)
    Registration Fee: $65.00/semester
    Activity Fee: $50.00/semester

    Note: There is no on-campus graduate dormitory, but ample housing options are available in the NYC region.

    Accreditation Update

    Yeshiva University is preparing to offer a new Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and is an Applicant for Candidacy by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, MD 20850, 800.498.2071 or 301.296.5700. This status is used to identify a graduate education program that has submitted an Application for Candidacy and has met eligibility criteria to participate in the candidacy program. Final decision on admissions will be made once the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CAA/ASHA) awards Candidacy Status to the program.
