Joshua S. Meredith, J.D. is the Director of Career Advising and Technology and began working at Yeshiva in Summer 2019. Joshua oversees a team of advising professionals to ensure YU students are provided with career advising in a thoughtful and professional manner. In addition, he oversees data collation and technology efforts. He brings a diverse outlook on career advising and how to integrate the Career Center’s work across the campus.
Joshua brings a unique background to Yeshiva. From 2013 to 2019, he served in various roles at Georgetown University, and since 2015 as the Assistant Dean for Analytics, Technology and Security programs which encompasses the Technology Management, Systems Engineering Management, Applied Intelligence and Emergency Disaster Management M.P.S. programs. He worked to ensure more than 800 students successfully completed graduate courses of study, working to oversee a team of advisors to aid in that process. Managing a portfolio of more than $30-million dollars in revenue, he managed all aspects of the graduate process. In addition to his program management, he was the Chair of the Academic Operations Enrollment Management Committee. For his efforts at Georgetown he was awarded the 2018 President's Excellence Award for service to the University.
Joshua is the founding Senior Project Manager for the Hoya Hacks Hackathon, a yearly event that brings together hundreds of computer science, engineering, and math students to develop code for social good. This works to integrate a number of technology companies into this event including Google and Verizon.
In addition to his role as an administrator, Joshua maintains a strong passion for teaching ethics. For more than 5-years he has been a faculty member in the M.P.S. in Human Resources Management (HRM) program at the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. He will begin teaching at Muhlenberg College in Spring 2021. In the Fall 2020, he will begin teaching Ethical and Legal Environment of Business in the Sy Syms School of Business. He maintains a strong understanding of traditional ethical theorem while teaching students how it connects to the modern work environment.
Originally from Jericho, New York, he earned his law degree at the Syracuse University College of Law and spent three-plus years working as a litigator prior to moving into Higher Education. During his time at Syracuse, he was the President of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society, and wrote the qualifications for the Entertainment and Sports Law Certificate under the tutelage of Professors Laura Lape and Rodrick Surratt. Joshua earned his bachelor’s degree in History from The George Washington University. Joshua maintains an active legal license in the State of New Jersey. Joshua currently hails from Jersey City, New Jersey.
